The company website, prudentbear.com is well establish in its field, but with the introduction of five new hedge funds, the site needed to be extended in order to comply with the regulatory restrictions involved with Hedge Fund websites.
Before our work began, we had a components for multiple funds into one framework. However, due to the unique aspects of this scenario (discussed later) we had to implement a unique solution.
There were several unique aspects to this project:
- Five Hedge Funds to manage
- Two Offshore funds, three onshore.
- Two funds available for Qualified Clients (3c7 Investors) and three funds for Accredited Investors (3c1 investors)

EzSystems released the first release candiate for the 3.9 series of their award winning content management system. This release features a wealth of valuable features, many of which were requested and implemented by the eZpublish community.
Also included is a fantastic new default theme (shown on the right), and a nice standard website package which is available during the installation which makes setting up a simple site using eZpublish that much simpler.
The HedgeCo Website creation team is currently in the final stages of rolling out two websites using the eZpublish 3.8 series. These websites will be launched in this month, so be sure to check back here so you don’t miss the launch party!
We are evaluating this new release, and hope to integrate the new features into our products so that our clients can benefit from what looks like a great new release from the eZpublish team. Thanks to everyone who made this release possible!
This is a short annoucement to welcome Aaron Connelly to the HedgeCo Hedge Fund Websites team.
AaronC (founder of ACJavascripts.com and Cytech-Services.com) has been working with us for the past few months providing his expert services to help with the influx of work which we have had. However, due to the increased in business preceeding the official launch of HedgeCoWebsites.com we are taking him on full time. AaronC will be working in our deployment and support department, and will be working with our clients in the final phases of deploying their Hedge Fund websites.
We look forward to working with AaronC, and if we’re lucky we might even convince him to drop in here to blog every now and then!

This was my first Zend Conference and I enjoyed it immensely. The topic was “Creating Advanced PHP Applications”, and the two talks that I presented were “Upgrading to PHP5 with Style” and “Planning a PHP5 Rewrite”.
This year ZendCon was held in the Doubletree Hotel in San Jose, California. After driving down from LA with Jon Bauer, I called ahead to make sure that we meet up with some of the other guys for the obligatory pre-conference dinner.
As always, for regular speakers the conferences are more about meeting up with other developers than the conference sessions themselves. This being my first US-based PHP conference I was happy to finally meet up with some of my friends, many of whom I’m communicated with over the last few years but hadn’t had the opportunity to meet in person. One of the highlights of this conference was the extensive expo floor and the wealth of companies that were exhibiting.
