Porter Montgomery

Porter Montgomery bought HedgeCo Website Creation over the winter of 2012-2013. He is a technology entrepreneur whose background includes senior management positions in biotechnology, software development, and government organizations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Mr. Montgomery most recently sold his e-procurement software company, Category One, to UK-based Market Maker 4.

Before launching Category One in January of 2009, Mr. Montgomery served as the Policy Director at the U.S. Small Business Administration, where he was responsible for developing and implementing policy changes to the federal government’s $300 billion small business set-aside programs and $100 billion small business loan guarantee programs. While there, he served on the Board of the $50 million Technology Development Fund, a private corporation that finances early stage telecom companies.

Mr. Montgomery was also a member of the founding team at BioScale, Inc. - a Boston-based biotechnology company that provides sophisticated protein measurement technology to accelerate drug discovery, development and production of biological and pharmaceutical products. Early in his career, Mr. Montgomery worked for a SoftBank Capital-backed wireless middleware company in London, England and managed Asia-Pacific region consulting for IDC in Singapore. He earned his dual major degree in History and Government from Dartmouth College and has studied at the American University in Washington, D.C. and at Oxford University in the U.K.
